Q: Is laser therapy safe?
A: Laser therapy is completely safe The FDA has classified low level laser therapy devices as "non-significant risk medical devices" They pose no health risk to the patient provided that protective eyewear is worn. Normal precautions should be followed like with any medical procedure.


Q: How many treatments do you need?
A: This is a one-time treatment, which should alleviate cravings once the treatment is performed. However, we do offer a second treatment or boster within the first 6 months at no additional cost. Please call the office to discuss the details of our boster policy.


Q: How long does the treatment last and when do you start feeling it?
A: The treatment takes about 20 minutes, though the relaxing effect is a little different for everyone, you should feel no cravings for nicotine immediately.


Q: How do you feel once you are treated?
A: The treatment is very relaxing and some people experience a degree of drowsiness.


Q: Does insurance cover this?
A: We do not take insurance, but would be happy to give you some information for you to submit along with your receipt to your insurance company. Some people have tried to get their insurance company to cover this and have submitted it under needle less acupressure.


Q: How does the laser work?
A: The lite energy of the laser is absorbed by skin and cells to stimulate acupressure points triggers your body to go into a constant release of endorphins which are natural pain suppressors produced by your body.


Q: Where is the laser placed?
A: The laser is placed on various meridian and auricular points on the body around the ears, nose, hands, wrists and forearms.


Q: If I were to have a blood test, how long does it take for nicotine to be out of the body's blood stream?
A: Depending on the person's metabolism, approximately 3 to 5 weeks.


Q: How long does the feeling of not needing a cigarette last after the treatment?
A: For most people, the physical cravings are gone for good. You will still have the mental habits to break, but we give you some tips on how to break those habits as well.


Q: If you are taking medications what affect doe this treatment have?
A: Being that treatment is not internally taken, it has not affected other medications.


Q: Can I have a pacemaker and do this treatment?
A: We have had no problems with any customers that had a pacemaker, though we would suggest that you call your doctor for advice.


Q: Is the treatment performed by a doctor?
A: No the treatment is performed by a trained laser technician.


Q: I have never heard of this treatment, who else does this?
A: It has been available in Europe and Canada for over 20 years, we are the first ones in the United States.


Q: What do you accept for payment for the treatment?
A: All credit or debit cards, checks, or cash.


Q: How far in advance do I have to schedule my appointment?
A: Usually 7-10 days in advance, please call or email our office for scheduling information.


Q: When I drink that is when I usually smoke, after the treatment will I still want to smoke?
A: We recommend that you avoid your alcohol intake for the first few days after the treatment. You also want to avoid situations that trigger old smoking habits for a few days.
